On 21 March 2026, the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation launched the Billy and Elsie Nair Learner Support Programme, marking both Human Rights Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The programme focuses on providing targeted academic support to learners, with the aim of improving outcomes in key subjects and expanding access to quality education.
In 2026, the initiative has been extended to Lawley Thuto Lefa Secondary School, Winfred Nomzamo Secondary School, and Qoqa Secondary School. The programme supports Grade 11 and 12 learners in Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, and Physical Science.
This initiative forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing work to advance equality through education and support young people in reaching their full potential.
