About Laloo Chiba and Amrit Bowan:
Laloo Chiba and Amrit Bowan were extraordinary individuals who dedicated their lives to the pursuit of justice, equality, and human rights. Their tireless efforts in the face of adversity, unwavering commitment to social change, and advocacy for the voiceless serve as an enduring source of inspiration for generations to come.
Laloo Chiba was a stalwart anti-apartheid activist and political prisoner who endured years of imprisonment alongside Nelson Mandela on Robben Island. He later played a vital role in the liberation struggle and the establishment of a democratic South Africa. His dedication to justice, equality, and human rights never wavered, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Amrit Bowan was a passionate advocate for social justice and an inspiration to all who knew him. His work in various fields, including community development, education, and human rights, made a profound impact on his community. Amrit’s legacy is a testament to the power of individuals to effect positive change through their actions and values.
The Scholarship Details:
The Postgraduate Scholarship aims to support students who embody the spirit and values of Laloo Chiba and Amrit Bowan. This scholarship is open to postgraduate students pursuing advanced degrees in fields such as human rights, social justice, law, political science, international relations, education, and community development.
