Annual Fundraising Banquet: Honouring Legacy, Inspiring Tomorrow

Every year, The Foundation comes together for a signature fundraising banquet. An evening dedicated to honouring the memory of Ahmed Kathrada, showcasing the work that we have done throughout the year and advancing our mission of social justice, transformative education, and community upliftment.
A Night of Purpose and Celebration
This banquet is a fundraiser, but it is also a celebration of ideals. Attendees gather in a spirit of unity and commitment, recognising how far we’ve come and the vital journey ahead. The night blends reverence and energy, with meaningful speeches, uplifting tributes, and a shared vision for a better future.
Honouring a Legacy
These events routinely pay tribute to the legacy of Ahmed Kathrada and the remarkable figure whose work continues to inspire our efforts. It is a deeply symbolic moment, a reminder of the rooted values guiding our cause.
Highlights from Our Previous Banquets
Our banquet is also a stage for storytelling and connection. It brings together many voices and faces. Supporters, changemakers, and partners. We all unite under the banner of progress and hope. Visit our YouTube channel to watch banquets from 2023 and 2024.
Why It Matters
- Fuelling the Mission: Proceeds from the banquet directly support programmes in Advancing Non-Racialism, Youth Leadership and Activism, Preserving our liberation history and strengthening and defending our democracy.
- Building Community: It’s an opportunity for donors, volunteers, and allies to connect, reflect, and recommit to shared values.
- Celebration and Inspiration: The evening uplifts, reminding attendees of the impact they enable and the future they shape.
We invite you to join us for our next fundraising banquet. An evening to celebrate, remember, and reinvest in the change we’re building together.
The Foundation conducts research aimed at understanding issues of race, identity transformation and history. A number of publications and papers have been published; these materials and sources help to capture data about racism and inform thinking and policy aimed at eradicating it. The Foundation also hosts various seminars, workshops, conferences and dialogues on issues of race.
