Position: Administrative Officer

Job summary:

To manage administrative work such as filing and collecting AKF youth clubs’ membership forms, creating and managing databases, call making, collation of data and web support.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To support the AKF Youth Department with administrative needs such as filing, planning events, processing requests etc.
  • To set up meetings, take minutes, and keep records of all youth department work
  • Provide technical and admin support for events and youth club campaigns such as stakeholder engagements, letter and proposal writing, coordinating meetings etc.
  • To manage communications from the AKF office relating to the youth department such as emails, calls, media enquiries
  • Create and manage youth and stakeholder databases
  • To collect and organize data from website

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Knowledge of social justice issues and youth activism;
  • Good admin and Microsoft office skills
  • Good awareness of online tools to support admin work
  • Event and project planning skills;
  • Good communication and people skills;
  • Working under pressure,
  • Being organized and having good time management skills

Qualifications required:

The applicant must have relevant experience and skills as an administrator.

6 Month Contract- R4500 pm

Work times: 9am to 3pm (may include some weekends but times are flexible) Place of work: Our office is located in Lenasia, Johannesburg South.

Position: Media/Marketing and Design Officer

Job summary:

To develop and design content and branding material for the youth activism program. To manage and maintain daily online operations on social media, the website and by assisting the education and training team with technical support for online events.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement a media and marketing plan
  • Coordinate and create social media content and weekly posting schedule
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Provide technical support with online tools/programs to youth department team and AKF youth clubs
  • Create a guide and standardised templates
  • To assist in managing website
  • Develop and produce a monthly post outline/guide to assess the program content/thematic needs

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Knowledge of social justice issues and youth activism;
  • Good marketing, design, media, web development skills
  • Good online technical skills
  • Program and project planning and management skills;
  • Ability to produce and create content relating to youth and social justice;
  • Ability to work under pressure and have good time management skills

Qualifications required:

The applicant must have relevant qualifications in the design/marketing/media fields.

6 Month Contract- R6500 pm

Work times: Flexible hours- Ability to work from home

2x Education & Training Facilitators/Content Creators

Job summary:

To develop curriculum guidelines and create lesson plans for the youth activism program. To facilitate and plan regular lessons, webinars, events, workshops for the AKF Activist School and supporting training programs.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To develop and create the activist school curriculum guidelines
  • To prepare and present lessons based on the curriculum guidelines
  • To coordinate the Activist School
  • To facilitate weekly/bi weekly online sessions
  • Create a teaching plan with standardised lesson templates
  • To source and develop relevant supporting materials for lessons such as videos, articles, books etc.
  • To use social media and online platforms such as Zoom, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and twitter for teaching and learning.

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Knowledge of social justice issues and youth activism;
  • Good facilitation, teaching and lesson planning skills
  • Sound online technical and social media skills
  • Program and project planning and management skills;
  • Ability to produce and create content relating to youth and social justice;
  • Ability to work under pressure and have good time management skills

Qualifications required:

The applicant must have relevant qualifications in the education/training fields and/or experience in social justice initiatives/organizations.

6 Month Contract- R4500 pm
