As South Africa prepares to mark 50 years since the June 16 Soweto Uprising, questions are being asked about whether the dreams of the youth of 1976 have been realised. While apartheid has ended, many young people today continue to face unemployment, poverty, crime and substance abuse. The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has launched its #YouthLivesMatter campaign, calling on young South Africans to organise and take action, just as the class of 1976 did. Luyanda Danca reports.
