The overall work of the Board and the strategic direction of the Foundation will be overseen by a Council of Patrons still to be established. The Council of Patrons will be selected by the founder, Mr Ahmed Kathrada, and will be broadly representative of people who can offer sound guidance to keep the Foundation active, relevant and meaningful.

The Council of Patrons will meet annually to assess and direct the work of the Foundation.
